I feel that Kodachrome is one of the all time best looking film stocks ever made; does any one else agree with me? What year did they stop making it, does anyone know of a stock pile anywhere?

Kodachrome 64 hasn't bee discontinued to my knowledge.

It's not a high volume product, and hasn't been since E6 films started getting really good 20 years ago. Many shops don't stock it or only stock it on a limited bases.

B&H Photo in New York has plenty of it, though, and Dwayne's Photo in Kansas will process it for at least two years after the official Kodak discontinuation notice, which hasn't yet come.

As for it being the best looking film stock made-I used to think so too. Then, I tried some Fuji Velvia, and my Kodachrome love affair was over. I've yet to meet an E-6 film I didn't like, including the dirt-cheap Elite Chrome 100 and Fuji Sensia. They all make Kodachrome look extremely dull and boring by comparison.

Especially Kodachrome 64. The contrast is even worse than Velvia, but the color is so dull that it looks like someone's bad Photoshop work.

As you can probably tell, I'm no longer so fond of Kodachrome.

Digital took over and they couldn't sell enough of it to justify continued production.
