I have always doubted what I believe but now, I see many kids whose parents are forcing them into different beliefs. These are 6th and 7th graders by the way. Has this ever happened to you and do you think kids this age know what they're saying?

I am an agnostic, I know that many kids HAVE to go to church no matter what in my school. I'm used to kids telling me what to believe but, I've gotton used to it.

Meanwhile, half the people on Ely D's list of Jews were ATHEISTS! They were Jewish in heritage only.

In my school I hear kids saying that they dont believe in a certain religion but their parents keep forcing them to believe and some parents even say that either they follow chirstianity, catholisism, etc. or they get out.(yes the house) I just think that the kids don't know what theyre saying because theyre still very young and naive. Until you know the whole facts about your religion and everything, can you doubt what you do and dont believe in. I became atheist when i was 13. I read the bible every night, prayed before i went to sleep and went to church. I had gone to catechism done my communion and was on my was to doing the confirmation but i just started to question everything that i had been taught. But then again thats just my opinion...

I don't understand what you mean by being "forced into different beliefs". In the Catholic faith, kids of that age are taking confirmation classes and in the Jewish faith, Bar or Bas Mitzvah lessons. Frankly, not every kid is enthusiastic about them.
Anyway, 12 and 13 year old kids start doubting everything, so why should religion be different?

Its not new its because they don't read the bible or related books . I left the catholic church about 11 or 12 , but I graduated from a catholic school I used to still go to church but not really there if you know what I mean . I still believed in God but that was it . Never really straightened out till I was about 34yrs old .Now I attend a baptist church ( conservative ) The point is if I had kept reading I may not have strayed away so far

Of course they know what they're saying. Something doesn't seem right to them, and they're using their brain and questioning, which is natural. Their (and your) questions may lead to having greater faith later, or perhaps it may lead to a change of faith. But don't stifle the doubts, look for answers, and not just in one spot, either. "Leave no stone unturned," as the saying goes. The answers are there.

I'm 13, and I've always doubted religion and spirituality in general. A few years ago I just came to a logical conclusion, and I feel better knowing that it's all bull.

Yes, it's what led me to become an atheist. I started to become skeptical when I was very young, I started blatantly doubting when I was around 13.

i went through the same thing but my mom thretened that i would go to a home for girls if i didnt stop my douting. but after a while i just douted it so much i finally converted behind her back because its my life, not hers. but if they dont look it up or find a good reason to dout then they just need to think about what they are doing. maybe u need to talk to them but dont try to push religion, my friends did that and it just got me mad at them.

Ironically, it was confirmation class in sixth grade that really set me down the path toward atheism.
