Toothpaste is good for drying the zits out, but you don't want to use it often because it will dry out your skin as well. St Ive's face scrubs are cheap and work VERY well. If you're looking for something that doesn't exfoliate every time you wash, Dove face washes are wonderful too.
Make sure that whenever you apply makeup or wash your face, that you wash your hands prior to doing so. The oils and dirt on your fingers can also cause zits. Make sure you wash your face twice a day (in the a.m. and p.m. ) or after you work out or do anything that makes you sweat. Wash with warm water, rinse with cold. And this too will pass. :)
Good luck.

Well this will sound bad, but if you have any friends that go to a dermatologist, see if they have any samples for topical cream.
If not, then buy Neutrogena facewash. It is an orange bar. My dermatologist told me to use this because it won't dry your skin out too much and it will clean it well. DO NOT over wash your face, it will cause it to become dry.
Drink water. It helps to clear you skin up. Also, eat fish. The kinds with Omega 3 fatty acids. That helps skin as well. Salmon I think has a lot of it?
As far as drugstore topical cream is concerned, anything by Neutrogena. Make sure it has a little bit of SALIC ACID. That will zap those zits. Make sure not to apply it more than every other day, or else your skin will be dry and you may get a chemical burn. Those suck.

I love Proactive, and it's not that expensive. It's $40 for a 2 month supply.
But for $5, try a good antibacterial soap and wash your face twice a day.
Evaluate your ance causing issues, like makeup, stress, diet and exercise and see if just making other healthy changes in your life can reduce the amount of acne you have. Drink more water and eat more fruits and vegetables. It sounds dumb, but it helps.

Go to the nearest drugstore and buy Clearsil Three Day Program, it will start to clear up within a couple of days and within two weeks, be gone, twice a day is all you need to do, and it only costs 6 dollars, i know its a dollar more than what you want to spend, but its totally worth it.

I swear clearsil ultra gel got rid of almost all of my zits. All you have to do is wash your face with it, like, twice a day for 3 days. It really works!
