Since I've sung several versions of Ave Maria a gazillion times, Ave is Latin for 'Hail'. It was Eve not Eva that you're thinking of. Beautiful songs. Hard to pick a favorite although I favor the Bach Guonod version.

Actually study the Kabbalah, read your Torah and above all: THINK!! The first woman was LILITH!!
Ave is Latin for "Hail" and wow, what am I saying? Eva? That's a small town in Alabama, not the name of the first woman - argh!!

It's not really 'interesting' as it is logical. Ave Maria is a Latin hymn.. hymn being religious - Eve, the original first woman being a major role in religion. :)

Midge -- it's Eve, not Eva. Ave Maria is Latin for "Hail Mary."

Before the combats in the arenas throughout the Roman Empire, the gladiators used to say:
"Ave Caesar. Morituri te salutamus". "Hail Caesar, we are who about to die salute you."
I hope there are not spelling mistakes, because it has been many years since I studied Latin.
"Ave" is Latin for "hail". "Ave Maria" is Latin for "Hail Mary".
Ave Veritas!
