recently i joined my mom at selfdefense class and got totally humiliated by her. we were partners and had to hold each other, and try to free ourselves. we both struggled, but neither was able to overpower the other. but then my mom did something incredible...she raised her leg, and slammed her foot right into my balls! i felt a terrible pain and coudn’t move and was still holding my mom’s arms, so she kicked a second time! i went down and curled up. it felt like my testicles had exploded. my mom thought i was wearing a cup, but i didn’t. she was shocked and apologized. the instructor noticed what was going on, and they both helped me to get on my feet. the instructor was a very attractive woman, which made the situation even more embarrassing. she told me how to deal with the pain (breathe, sit upright) while my mom was holding my hand. later they both started to giggle and make jokes about it. i was embarrassed and had aching testicles for 2 days.

should i just forget about it?

Honestly man, you and your mom will be joking about this incident together in like 1 month from now. That's an awesome mother/son moment you can tell to your kids when you have some. And as for your mom, at least you know she can take care of herself :-)

Heck no! Stick with it-twenty years from now when you are older and your mom older still you will look back at it and laugh. I know it is embarrasssing now for you-you can impress them more by coming back and being the best student that they have-just remember to wear a cup from now on.

I had a track coach in high school embarras me and tell everyone I would not make a good long distance runner. This was after I competed on the varsity as a freshmen and won several medals/ribbons for second and third place but never first. By the end of my junior year I owned the school record and had cut almost two minutes off of it and my senior year I was in the top three in the state. His comment and the embarrassment it caused me motivated me to train, run, and prove him wrong. You have the opportunity to do the same here if you will only take it.

First I must say we never if possible let siblings train together partly for the reason you post this question. That said Get over it it isn't about you.
I'm sure Mom feels as bad as you about it.
Many time people make jokes to try to defuse an uncomfortable situation not realizing they may be making you feel worse. Be the bigger one about it and move on.
Important for beginning training If a dril is supposed to work go with it don't fight it. You see the dril did ultimately work so you should let go sooner. When not on the floor study how the body moves. This wil help with drils
Do not let this deter you from a oppertunity to grow.

wow, that sounds painful man!! whenever i do class and we do groin strikes we arent supposed to actually hit, but still. I guess you should just forgive her, remember the lesson. besides, now you have a funny story to tell people lol! but yeah, your mom did what she should've (if this had been a real fight) but still that is a little extreme, and even if you make contact with a person's groin you should'nt go full on. once i sparred someone, and we both did back kicks at the same time, but his leg came in under mine, and his leg was longer. guess where it hit? OWCH lol

I think so, yes. It's not as though she did it intentionally, and she apologized. The fact that she did that in a self-defense class just shows she has a good grasp of what is necessary for protecting herself, which is a good thing. Besides, injuries happen in martial arts.

It was your fault
A cup is required in every Martial arts class.

Advise:
Wear a cup in class
"Be Aware" of groin strikes
"Forgive" this, but don't "forget" the lesson you learned!

first of all, when i was young i kjnew something like that would happen if i took MA with my mom or and sibling. i think u should quit if ur instructor would act like that because thats unproffesional and i took MA when i was a teen because I knew that i would be more commited.

That should teach you to always wear a cup. Don't be embarassed, make jokes about it. Act like an adult to be treated like an adult.
