How does this impact your religious beliefs?

You can't argue that kind of proof.

Huckabee actually came off pretty strong in the debates. I don't think he would be a bad choice. Regardless of Chuck's endorsement he probably still won't win, but he might be the best choice among the contenders. It is a fairly underwhealming field of candidates this election. Huckabee's biggest hurdles to overcome are that no one knows him and that he might be too religious. But he has handled questions about his religious beliefs quite well. Neither backing down from his beliefs nor getting trapped by them. So I wish him Good luck with his Chuck Norris Roundhouse Bump.

I suggested an evening ago that we needed to adopt Bruce Lee instead of Chuck but no one would listen to me. Yeah, looks like an instant win. No Republican would get my vote and I don't heart Huckabee.

Chuck is cool and all, but jokes and nonsense aside, I'm not going to vote for a horrible candidate because some movie star endorses him.

I think Chuck Norris has finally had someone kick his head too hard! We are doomed.

I saw Chuck Norris here in Arkansas at the ATA Songahm Taekwondo World Championship in Little Rock once several years ago and even shook that short guy's hand! Sheesh. Little did I know his senses would fail him so soon!

Now as to the question and how it impacts my religious beliefs:
I find it scary enough to send me to my knees to pray that the Republicans of this nation will show more common sense! It makes me pray HEAVEN HELP the USA if the former Governor of my home state of Arkansas is elected to lead this nation!

It might bring many people to their knees in prayer for the result of such a horrible decision should it come to pass. I said a prayer of thanks when he left office here as Governor.

Of ALL the candidates, he is the bottom of the barrel in terms of one who would honor the Constitutional rights of all our citizens. I am a lifelong resident of Arkansas. He is popular with a very vocal and large number of Southern Baptists and Christian fundamentalists here, but also has a very large number of people who are quite thankful he is not our governor any longer!

The environment has taken a beating here in Arkansas under his "leadership", civil rights, public health, you name it..the gap between the haves and have nots widened dramatically as a direct result of his policies.

Can the United States stand more of the same?

As he did in Arkansas he would try to enact major cuts in funding for essential medical supplies and equipment, seeing dramatic increases in hospital admissions for that selected populace and rather than cuts in government spending. Hospital and nursing home care became necessary for many of these chronically ill or debilitated as a result and this care is much more expensive than providing supplies for the home!

He would like to see "creationism" as an alternative theory in classrooms, thus undermining science literacy. If our nation desires to remain at the forefront of science and technology, a leader with that level of science illiteracy is simply incomprehensible to me.

Check out the first link for his knowledge of US history, too.

So many of his initiatives failed and/or have left legacies that Arkansans are still struggling to overcome. From the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department debacles not getting the levels of funding promised for desperately needed repair of bridges and highways to the failed Healthy Arkansas iniative, we simply cannot as a nation permit such abysmal leadership. In 2002 Mike Huckabee announced a campaign to reduce obesity rates in Arkansas, the state has seen little progress among adults. His Healthy Arkansas initiative sought to cut the state’s adult obesity rate from 23 percent in 2002 to 15 percent, when he left office it was at 27 percent. He has plans for a Healthy America iniative and has a PAC set up in Virginia collecting money already for it!

It frightened me to also witness Christians who spoke out against Governor Huckabee's policies often chastized openly and harshly as somehow being LESS Christian than those who supported him! . Pitting themselves against one another in a massively Christian majority state has not been a pretty thing to see for this southern Jewish mama. Most of the people I come into contact with, including those who weren't particularly vocal against Huckabee while governor do nothing but laugh at the prospect of him running the country.

I wonder if the laughs are nervous laughs or incredulity at the idea that the US could be sinking that fast?

PLEASE See the links below for other problems with Huckabee for president.
Heaven forbid! Now I'm gonna have a hard time not having a nightmare tonight after thinking of that possibility!! WHY did you have to SHARE THAT?!!

This question was MISPLACED under Religion & Spirituality, it woud be better suited for Politics..or even the JOKE section.. however, Huckabee in my view, would be the most likely candidate of all to undermine our civil rights and religious freedoms.
