Its possible. I have to admit before I was saved I was really liberal. But now that I'm saved I agree with a lot of what Conservative Christians believe. I am liberal still but I dont' believe in abortion (never did), homosexual marriage but I think thats all the conservative stuff I do agree with. But I do believe in the government helping its people and a properly funding our education system. Which Republicans always take money out of.

I'm not a Christian, but I know a number of liberal Christians.
The Bible does not always say what some people teach it says. In fact, a number of liberal Christians I know say that the conservative Christians have it all wrong. They've read it for themselves and have prayed about it and have come to that conclusion.

Where do you get your information about liberals? lol. I mean, I know that conservative Republicans are God's own, but what have they done for you lately, or for anybody other than their corporate backers? Do you consider starting a war of choice on false pretenses, just to help your friends in the war industry raid the US Treasury, something Jesus Would Do?

Liberals are about helping the less fortunate, the oppressed, the minority. Whether or not that's an intrinsically good idea, its certainly a more "Christian" idea. I can't understand why "religious" people continue to think the GOP is the party of Christ, of "morals and values," when all they get out of them is a lot of pandering and lip service and empty symbolism. It's almost as if they didn't actually have any real concept of morals or values.

Both political groups (indeed, all Christians, pretty much) ignore or dismiss as metaphorical the parts of the Bible that don't agree with their world view. Some conservatives find all that neighbor stuff to be crap, while liberals pass on certain social strictures. And everyone ignores the pro-slavery bits of the Bible, at least in the last hundred years or so.

Liberals can be christian or non-christian, and christians can be liberal or conservative.

It would just depend on how you define it. Jesus befriended prostitutes, tax collectors, and other 'undesirables', much to the chagrin of the religious authorities. They thought he was too liberal (for example healing the sick on the sabbath). But I guess he defined 'keeping god's law' differently than the religious leaders did.

So again, what do you mean by 'liberal', oh holier-than-thou one?

I would reverse the question. Given the example of Jesus, how can a Christian not be liberal? I am a Christian and I am a liberal. I will happily defend my beliefs with "thus saith the Lord".

Conservative vs liberal

Which is the real Christian?

But first tell me which is the real conservative. Bill Clinton who basically had a balanced budget, avoided entangling us in foreign wars that he couldn't win, and obviously believed in the Old Testament idea of male sexuality. Versus G. W. Bush who spent way beyond the income of the country to pander to his supporters, engaged in foreign wars for idealistic reasons, established a stifling national educational bureaucracy, and sacrificed liberty and expanded the control of the federal government and law enforcement.

Many believe in a allegorical view in the interpretation of the scripture. Meaning that the Bible is subject to the interpreter.

You inadvertently said their in agreement with the Bible.

As for political views, ah who cares? their liberals!
No but really, I've never met a believer who believes everything exactly the way I do and less who even do what they believe all the time.
for instance, do you ever talk badly about other people?
This is on the same list as those who practice homobla bla and should not think they will see the Kingdom of God!
What does this mean for us weak Christians?
