Keep them out of the can. Put it inside a cupboard, outside, in a room they don't go into. You would consider getting rid of your dogs for something this easily fixed?

I have a 125lb.Great Pyrenees who LOVES dumpster diving. My boy is so big that if I put the trash on the counter he can still get it.
So, I didn't invest in an expensive trash can, but instead I got two small bungee cords and bungee the lid closed every night, or whenever I leave. He's tried many times to get in it, but can't manage, and he's never been popped by the cord.
I got my cords at the dollar store. $2.00 investment and no more major cleaning every day after work.

Trash can with a weighted lid possibly. Monitoring your dogs or limiting their access to certain rooms.

put it somewhere so the dogs can't reach the garbage can. A can with a lid they will still get in because my dog can. I would say sit it outside or put it on the conter where they can't get it

Put the trash can somewhere they can't access.

Yes. It really is as simple as that.
