I'd like to know whether successful applicants for US Navy, Army, Air Force Reserve) are required to undergo training in boot camp, or is that only for those aiming to serve as soldiers? 8 of us are about to submit our application forms as reservists but this thought is keeping us all at bay. Any ideas? Thanks!

It's all hypothetical anyway. Something like... "Suppose I join", but in all honesty I'm way over the acceptable limit already. My buddies as well. :P

If your about to join, the first thing you should do is read everything about all the branches, if you had, you would know that ANY branch goes through basic, if basic training is keeping you form not joining, dont, this isnt a video game. And "submit your applications?" WTF!!!! Its not that easy dude, you dont just fill out an application and your in, learn some things, talk to a recruiter, and see if its right for you.

Yep you get basic training just like the rest of the military. But you only serve one weekend a month and two weeks out of the year for training, but if think joining the NG will keep you from going to Iraq, you are wrong. sorry.

You enlist you go to basic. Active, reserve or National Guard. It's all the same, the instructors don't know or care what you are. it's all the same to them.
ALL OF YOU are aiming to serve as soldiers. Now if boot camp is to tough for you, then you might as well wimp out now.

Wow. Yes I have an idea. Do not change the name you have chosen. It is appropriate.
