Large dogs. We have two small dogs here, and I love them, but they get underfoot so easily. Plus, small dogs are so yippy - our wiener dog's barks are so shrill, and she barks at EVERYTHING. Plus, they're more timid and shaky. She's cute, but she pees everywhere and she is shaking all the time. Kind of like a chihuahaha.
Big dogs just seem funner to play with, and I can imagine having kids and having them ride around on this huge puppy. I want a Pyraneese, which is huge, but also really fluffy and not as "hard" looking (like a German shepard or anything). They are really loyal and protective. :)

I prefer large dogs for the most part, but there are a few small ones I would own if I had the chance.

It depends on my lifestyle at the time---right now I prefer small dogs. However, I've owned everything from a 5 pound dog to a 90 pound dog, so again it depends on the situation at the time.
