not necessarily. Forgiveness is not always good. It will eat you up, if you hang onto hate, but many people skip alot of slef growth to 'get into forgiveness'. We are taught that forgivess is the answer and so we all want the hurt to stop so we rush to forgiveness. The pressure to forgive to 'stop being eaten up' pushes people into denail. Anger is good, it lets you know there is a problem. bitterness is good, it makes you deal with the pain. It is only toxic, when you dont' move on. The last step is forgiveness. And forgivess does not mean to let a person that has hurt you back in your life. Forgivess is in step with moving on without that person

It says in the Bible to always forgive others for what they have done. It doesn't mean that you have to be perfect around them and act like othing's wrong. You reap what you sow. When we leave this earth we will be judged by God,on all our sins. So whatever they do, still forgive them no matter what. It'll all work out in the end..

I think you already answered your own question. Unforgivness is drinking damnation to ourselves. Jesus said that if we don't forgive, how can our Heavenly Father forgive us? Jesus told a parable and i'll paraphrase it:

There was a servant who owed the king a ton of money. He begged forgiveness so the king said sure. Then this same servant went out and threw his own servant into jail because that servant couldndt pay the small bit of money he owed to the higher servant. When the king found out, he was furious and said "i forgave you all that debt and you cant even forget a small offense"?

I think god forgives us a lot like how we forgive the people here. Its evident to all who have experienced it that grudges invite bitterness, darkness, hatred that isnt anything of god but from the adversary himself satan. Its only when we forgive that a new light enters and we can move on again.

You can forgive, but you can't forget. But in painful times, then I understand why some do. But forgiveness is a good thing.

Forgiving others is sunply a gesture in which people don't wish to carry on a hardship. I don't see it in any other light, maybe that's just me being close minded.

JESUS TOLD A PERSON WHO ASKED THIS QUESTION: HOW OFTEN SHOULD WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASSES AGAINST US? 7 TIMES. JESUS SAID NO, 70 TIMES 7! AND WHEN YOU REACH THAT TOTAL, START OVER...(MY WORDS HERE)

WHEN YOU DO NOT FORGIVE OTHERS, YOU WILL BECOME BITTER, ANGRY, HARD TO GET ALONG WITH...SO YES, IT WOULD BE LIKE YOU'RE DRINKING POISON....

IF YOU REFUSE TO FORGIVE OTHER'S FOR THE HURT THEY CAUSED YOU, THEN DON'T EXPECT JESUS TO FORGIVE YOU FOR THE HURT YOU CAUSED HIM....

READ MATTHEW 7:11....THAT IS ABOUT JUDGING...IF YOU DO NOT FORGIVE, THEN YOU ARE JUDGING, AND JESUS WILL MESURE THE JUDGING ON TO YOU, THAT YOU ARE JUDGING THOSE, YOU REFUSE TO FORGIVE...

GOD BLESS!
