Would you select your current religion if you had been born somewhere else in the world? For example if you were a son of a Chinese family what would have been the chances that you search, find and select the the same religion again?

If I were born into another family in another country, I wouldn't be me, so I think you are asking the wrong person.

Wow, I've never speculated along this tangent before. I'm not sure it's even an "answerable" question. If I had been born elsewhere in this world, I would naturally assume that I would've been born to different parents -- therefore I'd be a different person. If one could conclude that I would still have the same soul, I'm sure God would've still had the same plans for me. In that light, I'm sure that I would've been led to the same faith that I now believe. If the redundancy of the world's population allows God to be assured that someone would follow His will (we DO have the choice to do so, or not), then wherever I was born would be a moot point. SOMEONE would be available to serve His purpose. In that light, I feel so lucky to be that one! I'm among great company. Peace!

Religion per se is a personal and harmonious relationship with God. You cannot select otherwise. But, of course. you can select your preferred system or style. You can be a yogin, a Christian or Islamic mystic, a Taoist master or an Anunnaki from Nibiru. But this relationship with God has to be experienced to really have religion.

I'm not sure. I do think that where I lived would have at least changed the religion I was born into, but not necessarily change my own personal choice of the religion I follow now.

I know its a blessing that I have my religion that I've come to know but I have 100 percent faith if I seeked for truth somewhere else where that god could direct me to the truth. And if I didnt get the opportunity to hear of the truth in this life then I could have the opportunity in the life to come. Life doesnt stop when we die only changes.

I was raised Christian. Would I select Christian if I was born in another part of the world that doesn't preach Christianty? No, I would stick to my cultural norms like 99% of everyone else.

I 'was' born 'somewhere else in the world', fate lead me to my current religion.

True, I doubted it a lot, I argued with my self a lot, and I even attacked some of it's teachings out of ignorance at first, but in the end... here I am :).

Peace.

I am blessed to live in a country (USA) where I am free to have discovered Buddhism. Buddhism and Taoism are the only two religions accepting of my atheism.
