why do drug tests come up positive if they should be negative?

I had a drug test and they said thc was found in my system I didnt smoke and jail and loosing my job are on the line iver been clean 3 years how can this happen

THC is stored in the fat cells in the body. If you recently lost weight or had some physical exertion before your sample was drawn, it will show up positive on a sensitive test.

if you were near someone who smoked or in an area where there was recently heavy smoking of pot, you could have breathed in enough left over particulates for this to show up on your test, even if you NEVER touched the stuff. Have yourself re-tested after being sure you were not NEAR anywhere the drug might have been used for a good amount of time.

Some herbal over the counter meds show up as pot. Valerian is one. Ask to be retested.

stuff like poppy seeds come up as drugs because of their chemical make up...so NO MORE POPPY SEED MUFFINS BEFORE YOUR NEXT PEE TEST!!!!
