I love to write- I write as much as I can, well, as often as I can find a good subject. I love to write funny or sarcastic characters with a moving, suspenseful, action packed plot. Trouble is, I can't find an idea that I really love. I get twenty pages into a story and then it sits somewhere and collects dust. I have over 100 projects in the making.
My problem is that I need a good plot idea or story starter. I've been through so many I'm sick of starting over, but I can't drag myself back to old ideas. My dream is to write and publish a great novel, and I need your help!
So post all plot ideas, character ideas, or story starters that are not too silly or dark. I don't like writing horror stories. Oh, I'm 13 if that helps.

I like only one answer out of the three so far. Does 'action packed plot' mean anything? If you guys could help with action ideas (with nothing along the lines of the 'milton and melissa' ideas please) I would appreciate it!

I am 13 to and love to wright, right now I am writing a iece i am in love with.

How about a a girl of age 12 whom has lost her mother to a deadly diesease. Her father left when she was four ansd she runs away from her foster home insearch of a clue to her past and future but little did she know that her mother was not her boilogical mother she travels vermont all the way to caliornia she finall finds her mother but her mother doesn't want her she never did and never will.

you could do what she said or you could work on character development first instead of starting on the plot. build a character you really like....(ex. george is a 22 year old student.) then decide how he should act, is he a loner, does he rely on a trusted group of friends and colleagues. does he like to eat meat or veggies, is he brilliant, athletic, or just run of the mill? figure out the things your character likes and dislikes, would do and would never do. then you can write a story based on your character excelling at the things he or she does. or if you want a thriller you could always throw something totally uncharacteristic in there. turmoil and distress are always good for plots. make a pacifist fight, a cop becomes a criminal, or vice-versa. stories about people doing what they do best can be good but it becomes a lot different when you throw them into an unexpected situation.
