I heard that airports don't play any music by artists that have died in plane crashes (i.e. Aaliyah, John Denver, etc.) and I have yet to hear any such music on my many, many visits to airports in several different states. Is this true? Is it a regulation set by the government or just a really good idea? Thanks for your time and attention.

I don't know about the music, but I do know that the CNN you see on the TV monitors is a different version that edits out any and all stories about aircraft situations. The entire CNN airport feed had to be shut down on 9/11 because their was literally no other news to report that day. I would not be surprised if the music was controlled, but not be government rules.
