Before you get in a fight, see if you can get out of it first. Don't use your skills to fight but just to protect your self. I am a black belt in karate and have never been in a situation like this.

Best place to be when the punch comes is somewhere else!!!!
You have been taking the right course so far. Legally you can only use enough force to neutralize the situation.
The right reason for self defense is SELF DEFENSE.
Use what you need. Do not hesitate when multiple attackers come you must not focus on anything but the thing at hand. If someone is badly injured We advise to you to be the first one to call 911. Do not brag about your super training. Do get legal advice.

I really hate to say this but if you put hands on the biggest one then the rest will leave you alone. Most cowards run in Packs, so when you take down the one who appears to be the head then his little followers hesitate.

You will get in trouble even if it is self-defense unless you can set it up where it's obvious that you made every attempt to avoid the fight, such as getting loud and getting an adult's attention while they are harassing you. This way when you get the opportunity to defend yourself and put the head down, you will have an adult that can speak on your behalf. Make sure when an adult break it up you repeatedly ask them "Why won't they leave me alone?" or even better "What did I do to them for them to keep trying to harassing me everyday?" #1 thing to do is let your parents know first what's going on, so they can intervene first and most importantly. If harassment continues follow the instructions I mentioned earlier.

Go as far as you need to resolve or end the situation. If staying away works fine, if talking is needed, then talk. Most of the time, these arguements are just mucho bull sh*t. No one really wants to fight. Check out the situation, if your outnumbered, chances are something is going to happen. If you sense trouble (gut feeling) odds are something will happen. If that's the case, don't look back, give it your all and end it quickly. In defending yourself, its your butt or theirs. Good luck hope no one gets hurt.

Talk your way into resolving the situation.

If they persist and you can't avoid them, run.

If you have no choice, you'll have to get dirty. I find a quick eye gouge or bite to a sensitive spot will intimidate any opponent. Once they see that you're willing to permanently disable one of them, the rest MIGHT back off.

As always, don't continue to fight if escape becomes possible. There's no need to win a fight in this age.

1) Do what ur doing. Avoid, avoid.

2)Try to talk to the ones u have a problem with.

3) If they come after u give them a beat down.

4) Wow i wished i was u. U have that many diff' styles in ur area.

My personal rule is:

if it's a one-on-one scrap juat knock them out or hurt them just enough so that they can't continue, winded, KOd ect.

as you said they...
if it's more than one person attacking you, use short, fast crippling attacks (try to avoid killing) such as hijiate kokyu-nage but done by striking, or anything fast and damaging, bagging, kidney shots, hook to the jaw, knuckle strikes.

Try not to permanently cripple or kill but if it's more that one against you you're pretty well justified in using anything short of deadly force.

OSU!

F*** em up then (Steven Seagal style). With all your training and knowledge they shouldn't be allowed to mess with you like that. Show them that. Give them a beat down. You won't win any friends but you will prove a point to them. Don't let them push you around.

Depends, if it's one on one i guess you can go easy, but if its two or more on one, or if they have a weapon, you need to throw all the rules out the window, kick them in the groin, hit their throat, anything to save yourself
