Is this about guys? If it is: For me, I never get over a guy until I stop seeing him for awhile or when I find another guy. After, summer vacation, I'm mostly over him; partly b/c I stopped seeing all the good details in him and partially because I found someone else over the summer.
But if this is a family problem, you should talk to someone about it...

There is no fool proof method of letting go of a past love. The pain, time frame, support system, and reasons for the break up all play a role. However, you can do some or all of the following to help in the process:1)analyze the reasons for the breakup to satisfy your self that they were the right ones2) understand that nothing can bring back the romance( if that is true and factual)3)don't hesitate to count on and use family, friends, and other activities to fill some of the void4) do not try to deny the pain, sense of loss, anger, and bitterness that you may feel, that is half of the solution already5) do not fill your mind or thoughts with feelings of revenge or actually plotting one. While it won't happen overnight, you will soon notice that you are thinking less and less about this person and becoming happier with the state of your life and the opportunities that have become open to you. I wish you the best.

this is probobly not the answer you want and you've probobly heard it many times before but you have to give it time...eventually you will find yourself healing slowly but surely...let yourself cry and let yourself be sad but don't forget how to have a fun time. Maybe take a day out with your friends...GOOD LUCK!!

Get rid of all of his/her pictures. Delete him/her off of your phone and off your myspace or facebook. You have to get rid of every reminder of the person so you don't think about them. After some time passes, you'll stop thinking about that person. Then you can possibly contact them again and not have any feelings, but it's best that you just have no contact at all. You also have to want to move on.

Find someone else--it works like a charm. It may not be love, but it can sure ease the pain and help you forget the one you want to forget.

Get a pencil, a sheet of paper, and list your good qualities. Ask yourself, 'why am I going nuts over this person, when I have all this to offer?'

You have to stop all communication with them. No emails, no phone calls, and you can't see them under any circumstance. If they try and contact you, you're going to have to put a stop to it.
