Firstly, a child would not know what the word "RECITE" means. But if you used another word in place of recite such as "SAY" us your name, then at then end of the joke you could have the parents say, "Billy, your name is not HAM. Then Billy could reply, but my name ain't SAY either." *drum*

some people are so stupid.
She wasn't trying to tell a joke, she was asking why some kids purposely says their name is "ham", and wondering if it was a joke popular with kids.
I don't know if it's a joke or not, but I know alot of kids that say that "ham" is their name..

Only funny to a 3 year old. They have a very different sense of humor.
Is what's on "Teletubbies" a joke? They think so.

I'm sorry to admit that yes, this does appear to be a joke. According to dictionary.com, a joke can be defined as something done to provoke laughter, or something amusing or ridiculus.

they do it to be silly...tis not a real joke, just silly
like sometimes in class, little kids respond to questions with some of the funniest answers ever.
it's all to be silly, it only works for the kid though, not teens or adults, trust me on that..

Reminds me of one of my friend's jokes -- he says to ask him if he's a firefighter. The person complies, and he says "No!" and rolls his eyes. End of joke. Maybe it's funnier if you're drunk, but I'm not sure if it has a point besides (and neither is he).

It's a kids joke. The response would be 'then where's your eggs?'
Or you ask about why he's not green (if he's familiar with Dr. Seuss).

It's not a joke. The kid is stupid and so is the parent.

whoever made that one up should stick his or her head in the ground and leave it there. If it cant work above ground, maybe it will work as fertilizer
