Are you saying your dog won't eat his food without pineapple or he won't eat his food WITH the pineapple in it?
If his waste smells horrible I bet he's not eating it anymore, so if that's the case then problem solved. If you can't stand the smell pick it up and dispose of it.
However, if he wont' eat his food with the pineapple in it feed it to him after he's eaten his food.
Goldengal: The pineapple trick was recommended by a trainer for a dog who ate his own stool, and she has her own TV show.

One of the reasons your dog may have been eating his poop in the first place is because he isn't getting enough nutrition. This may be from the dog food your feeding him(or table scraps), or because he is eating too fast. If he's eating too fast, give him a little at a time so he has time to digest and give his intestines a chance to absorb the nutrients.
So you're saying that his poop smells so bad that you want to stop giving him pineapple but he likes it too much? Or that he stopped liking pineapple?
I am wondering where he is that he gets the opportunity to eat his own poop. If it is in the back yard, clean it up after he goes out. If it is in the house, you should potty train your dog and take him out for regular walks. Also spray where he goes potty in the house with a special cleanser so he won't be prompted to use it as a toilet again.
OH--And there is nothing wrong/toxic about a dog eating pineapple. I've seen Victoria Stilwell, a dog trainer for the past 15 years use this technique.
NOTE: And to the vet tech who contradicts my advice above, why don't you check out these websites where Daniel Estep, Ph.D. and Suzanne Hetts, Ph.D. state that "There may be proteins and other nutrients in the feces that are eaten." as a reason for coprophagia. AND Dr. Peter Kross, DVM states that "...since the digestion of food is not always complete, puppies still see nutrient value in their feces and view it as a snack. Often dogs are attracted to undigested rice, corn or peanuts in their stool if they happen to consume these foods. Maximizing digestion can help solve this problem." THANKS.

There are a lot of ideas on this but few work even most of the time. The only thing that works is to clean it up before he eats it. Eating poop is a survival instinct so it is nearly impossible to curb once the habit is formed.

Get a diaper genie and clean up the poop every time he goes. The diaper genie is so your porch won't smell until garbage goes. I do this for poop that happens on walks because when I was just putting it in the can in the plastic bags it still smelled even when tied shut.

Put distaste or deter on his food. You can get it from pet smart or pet co. Also can purchase NR Special Blend and mix in with his food. It helps with bad breath, is healthy, aids in good nutrition and digestion and deters poop eating. You can purchase it from the web. Just look it up.
Try putting something else he likes on his food instead of pineapple. I had no idea dogs love pineapple!

Who told you that? I cannot even believe it! That is why people need to be very careful about the advice they get on YA.
You will need to slowly use less and less of the pineapple... gradually weaning him off of it. Do not use that again.
You want him to stop eating his poop? Be good about picking it up as soon as he goes. I do NOT recommend anything else.
NOTE: When dogs eat poop it has NOTHING to do with lacking nutrients!

Dogs eat poo it is what they do because they cannot get all the nutrients the first time. If he is hungry enough he will eat. Changing his diet will make him finicky and you will fight this problem continuously.

This is caused because the dog is bored. Give it more toys or bigger land.
