This question perhaps sets a new all-time low for anti-Witnesses, in that it simultaneously reinvents history and seeks to focus antisemitic bigotry against Jehovah's Witnesses.
The original title of "Zion's Watch Tower" was established in 1879, more than a decade before anyone had heard of "Zionism" or "Zionists". Terms related to "Zion" were not connected to the political interests of ethnic Jews until later, in the writings of Nathan Birnbaum after 1890. The terms did not really enter general use until about 1900.

Shamefully, anti-Witnesses have tried to connect Jehovah's Witnesses with Zionism from the 1950s to the present. Apparently to stoke the fury of antisemitism against true Christians, "the evil slave [class]" has worked to incite bigotry and hatred by Nazism and Communism and Islamic fascism (compare Matthew 24:48-51).
Shockingly, it would seem that anti-Witnesses such as this questioner are now campaigning to increase persecution against the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, all based on a lie.
The Watchtower of March 1, 1958, said: “Zionism must fail because Jehovah is having nothing to do with it . . . Zionism is a part of this old world or system of things and therefore is doomed along with it.”
The Honorable Richard Heath, U.S. ambassador to Lebanon in 1956, said: “The Watchtower is not pro-Zionist. . . . it is of nonpolitical nature.”
Sadly, false "Christians" have actually worked to impugn Jehovah's Witnesses and add to their persecution.
New York Daily News (March 17, 1955) [quote]
“Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox bishops today urged the Egyptian government to close down the Cairo branch of the American Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society on grounds that it is spreading Zionist propaganda.” [unquote]

Zionism? I don't think I've come across anything that would agree with you.
Main Entry: Zi·on·ism
Pronunciation: \ˈzī-ə-ˌni-zəm\
Function: noun
Date: 1896
: an international movement originally for the establishment of a Jewish national or religious community in Palestine and later for the support of modern Israel
Support for the state of Israel? Are you sure?
As for Zion's Watchtower, if that somehow equals support for a Jewish Nation then I guess that any church, town or anything with the word "Zion" is also supporting said state.
"This represents another significant doctrinal reversal" Huh?
And you really need to get away from the tired old"New Light" thing.

Come on Olin! the position does it say they could no longer see the Cherubs? in case you examine the account, it ought to look life like that they were in a position waiting to. What change into the purpose of the flaming blade? to maintain human beings faraway from the tree of existence. Why ought to that be needed? Why change into the backyard constrained? How do all of us understand the water suggested contained in the Bible change into honestly moist water? The Bible would not aspect out that. even as Jesus stated to pay again to Caesar what's Caesar's, does that recommend i do not ought to pay taxes because Caesar does no longer stay now? some thing you need to truly be quizzing human beings on is this: the position contained in the Bible does it say that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are all equivalent and one in being as trinitarians practice? which will be more suitable urgent.

Perhaps Zionism is too broad a term.
For anyone who cares about the facts, the WT publication The Time is at Hand in Chapter 7 shows that since The Times of Restitution and the Lord's Second Advent began in 1874, we
"should expect to see some marks of God's returning favor to Fleshly Israel shortly after AD 1874, as one of the first features of restitution work. And surely enough, we do see favor beginning to return to them"
It cautions that FULL favor would not return until 1914 at the end of the Times of the Gentiles.
On page 218, it is 'shown' that 1878 is CLEARLY marked as the year when God's favor would begin to return to Fleshly Israel. The book then says "This we do find, in the fact that the Jew is now permitted privileges in Palestine denied for centuries past. And it was in that very year - 1878 AD when their "double" was full, and God's favor was due to return to that people."
On page 223, Mr. Charles Russell writes that he himself had seen these paralells from prophecy BEFORE 1878, and had published these conclusions in pamphlet form , in spring 1877 BEFORE they began to be fulfilled in 1878.

No different from when the Jehovah's Witnesses use to celebrate Christmas - Once they find out whats pagan, they reject it.
Think before asking questions because you're just making yourself look very ignorant.
Oh yeah, is it "new light" when Christendom accepts pagan teachings and holidays into their religion?

Not rude, I'm just stating my opinion on the type of questions shes asking on this forums. If she has a question, she should try ask one of Jehovah's Witnesses on here. But then again, she rather stay misinformed rather than coming to a accurate understanding.

The Watchtower likes to change policy when ever they see fit, if new light replace other new light which turns out to be old light when the new light comes in then they never had the truth, truth does not change. Jesus said that he doesn't change but this organization does. I wish they would come out with a book so all could know what is old light and what is new light! Stay tuned for some more new light a flash at that.

Nina. I have been reading your questions and answers and one scripture comes to mind.
Rom 10:2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God; but not according to accurate knowledge;
You have alot of zeal Nina, but have you ever studied with Jehovah's Witnesses?
Like I said in my previous comment to one of your questions. We are all aware of the early history of Jehovah's Witnesses.
We are also aware of the information that is posted on the web to try and stop a person from studying with Jehovah's Witnesses. We all know that this has not stopped honest hearted ones from learning the truth and coming into Jehovah's Organization.
The account in Acts comes to mind.
Acts 5:35 And he said to them: “Men of Israel, pay attention to yourselves as to what YOU intend to do respecting these men. 36 For instance, before these days Theu´das rose, saying he himself was somebody, and a number of men, about four hundred, joined his party. But he was done away with, and all those who were obeying him were dispersed and came to nothing. 37 After him Judas the Gal•i•le´an rose in the days of the registration, and he drew off people after him. And yet that man perished, and all those who were obeying him were scattered abroad. 38 And so, under the present circumstances, I say to YOU, Do not meddle with these men, but let them alone; (because, if this scheme or this work is from men, it will be overthrown; 39 but if it is from God, YOU will not be able to overthrow them;) otherwise, YOU may perhaps be found fighters actually against God.”
People think they are fighting against us but they are going against Jehovah God.
That's why our preaching work can not be stopped.
You and others are just wasting your time trying to stop people from learning the truth.
We encourage all to study with Jehovah's Witnesses to see for themselves if we really are the true Religion.

That was at least a hundred years ago, all of that was pagan. When God checked around in 1918 he found them to be spiritually fit to be his people and do his work - although they had to reverse almost everything they were teaching. It doesn't quite add up to me - you'll have to ask one when you see them again. Hopefully it won't be JR, he's rather rude - probably gets a lot of doors slammed in his face.
