This was manufactured in the Conn. Plant, and it has "Pantented Aug 5. 1984. Nov 6. 88. March 5. 95." on the top of the barrel...Has checkered plastic grip With COLT on the top along with the horse insignia imbedded in steel...

It has the numbers 305 on the cyl release...
The serial numbers on the but of the handel say "216" above "210"
Which means that the serial number is "216210"
Problem is I have no idea what model this gun is...Would like somebody to tell me model along with approximate value...Thanks

Any possibility of downloading a digital picture? In this case one picture WOULD be worth a 1000 words. It sounds like a Colt from your description, but .41 caliber and Double Action throws me for a loop..Unless it is a Colt Custom..You are referring to a 41 centerfire pistol correct? Hard Black Rubber Grips?

Could you possibly mean a .41 Colt Caliber? They made a Colt "Thunderer"in 1877 and it was only made in this caliber Or possibly a Colt 1892 DAR in 41 Colt Caliber

Unless Kari mistyped 1984 in place of 1884, it ain't a Lightning, a Thunderer or a Model 1878 of any sort.

Didn't Colt make their Anaconda in .41 Magnum, as well as .44 RemMag and .45 LC?

It is what Colt calls the New Navy model of the late 1800's. I use to have one chambered in .41 Long Colt. When I got it, loaded ammo was no longer available for it.

The serial number will be on the frame.
From the dates it sounds like a .41 magnum.
Not too many of those around.
