I like box cakes. They work well when your feeling lazy. :) The only think I don't like about them is the fact that they are so 'fluffy'.

How can I tweek the box directions to get a denser, more moist cake?

Add an extra egg and 2 tablespoons of flour. That'll help.

Use applesauce instead of the oil or fat they want you to add also add 1/2 cup of sour cream to the mix. YUMMY!

try softened butter / margarine in place of the oil
