A couple of cops were at my house to discuss a situation and one of them looked at an obviously plastic toy medieval sword that was about six feet away and asked,"Is that real?" This isn't the first time I have heard a cop ask such a stupid question. I responded by snickering, "Yeah, it's real....plastic." He seemed offended by my response.
Are they so eager to make an arrest or write a ticket that they grasp at the air for anything?

The situation had nothing to do with the behavior of anyone in our home. I laugh at the idea that the assumption was made. And we do not live in a trailer park. And I think I mentioned that the sword was OBVIOUSLY a plastic toy. It even had a kink in the middle of the "blade" where it had been bent in the midst of play. And yes, this really happened. Why would I make it up? Just so I could ask a question.
What cracks me up most is a cop's inability to discern or reason. I had a friend once who drew tastefully nude pictures. A cop was visiting his house to ask about a crime he had witnessed, looked at the drawings on the wall, and said: "These girls are all of age, I hope." See? Always looking for a crime where there is no crime. No ability to reason or discern. No doubt the woman in the drawing was nude, but they were drawings, obviously of full-grown women, and it was hanging in my friend's hallway... and he was HELPING the cop at the time, being a good neighbor.
