Tell her, that is the only thing that you can do, ask her if you can sit down and talk to her. My mom and I have been in a HUGE fight for a couple of days, and tho we are still mad at one amother, after we sat down and talked about it we are not AS mad at each other...things are said, and they hurt, but eventually they will heal...tell her what you think but try not to get, as moms say, "sassy" with her, b/c, believe me, that is what always gets me grounded......good luck.

Most teenagers go through years where they're constantly fighting with their parents. I don't know how old you are, but I'm sure you don't have eternity to live with your parents.

First of all, you should probably try talking to them and telling them what you told us. I had a similar issue, but it was with my father. Just tell your parents that you don't want to pretend to be someone you're not, and that you don't view it as something fair.

Most kids that get sheltered from everything their whole life end up extremely rebellious when they're older. Your parents should stop treating you like a baby. I'm sure you're old enough to choose which clothing you'd prefer to wear. Just explain that you want to be able to make that decision.

And to everyone who is going off at the mouth about it, they were teenagers once also. Of course they say that now, but they wouldn't have wanted their parents treating them like that then.

i bet you hang out with people who dress just the same - like they were stranded on an island for years and the clothes' termites got to them before the rescue squad! it is always going to be the way - your mother doesn't like how you dress, you will not like how your children dress! so, enjoy the time you have with your mother, soon she will be gone and you will be secretly ashamed of what you fought about - clothes. would you trust the opinions of a 3-year-old? how do you expect your mother to trust your understanding of the friends yo have or the music (the lyrics all deal with bodily functions, loose morals, killing, murder and violence) you are SO fond of? believe me, you really don't know any better than a woman of your mother's age. so learn something from her - once you have your name on the men's toilet walls, nothing will wipe it off, you are stuck with your reputation for the rest of your life.

If you dress "sexy" then guys will look at you like a sex toy they can use abuse and flush when theyre done with you.THAT is the ONLY image you will give them of you.Oh sure if you ASK them to their face if they think of you like that they will say no, if you ask them if they respect you they will say YES OF COURSE!ANYTHING, just ANYTHING to get in your panties hon.
Your mom and dad UNDERSTAND this, you are looking through eyes of fantasy, they see these things as they truly are, because they arent fighting raging hormones.
Listen to the lyrics of your music and see if theres anything bad or negative in them, what message it has.
Your parents are a better judge of your friends, for they see the roads your friends traveland where it always leads if driven on.

Gee it sounds like your parents want you to be a decent person, and have some values. They should be taken out and flogged for being good parents. There is only one thing you can do, go get a job and pay for your own clothes, food, telephone, and rent, then you will be an adult and can do what ever you want to do under your own roof, but until then you get to do as your parents ask, or go in the system.
