Call your Community Affairs Officer or the Public Affairs section of your Police department and ask to arrange a ride-a-long.

Contact the local PD and ask if they have a "Citizen-ride" program. If the locals don't, ask the state police in whatever state you're in.

My police dept has this info posted on thier website. It should list a contcat number reguarding this matter.

I did a few when I was younger. I just called the dept, gave them my name and info. They run a check on you and call back a few days later and ask when you want to go.
