i walked passed a cat that was sitting on a window sill it jumped off started crying and meowing and rubbed its self against me legs i walked on my way the cat followed making noises for about 3 minutes than it stopped and run back the way it came.
whats was all about then?

Maybe he was just looking for some affection. Cats sometimes need to be petted and fussed over and as you were walking past he thought you would be a good candidate to do this.

If he followed you its because he wanted to be fussed over more, nothing sinister.

If he ran back to his house when you got too far away it just means that he is a contented house cat who know where his food will be when he wants it so would stay there and not follow strangers to their homes.

He was just attention seeking.

All cats do that, it's their way of showing you affection, they like the attention. They like to stay close to their homes. They are very territorial, so when you walked on the cat was returning to it's territory. where it feels safe.

When cats rub on you they let off a chemical that marks them as theirs. It's their way of saying that your theirs. maybe this kitty just wanted some attention or was hungry, maybe it just wanted a friend or more " property" lol hopefully this helps
