It is all one government pay scale.

Some jobs in different services get incentive pay. But the base pay is the same no matter what service you are in. It is based on rate, time in service, and time in pay grade.

The names are changed from Army, Marines, Navy and Air Force but the pay is the same fro each grade.

E1 is the lowest. Pvt in Army, Airman Basic in Air Force
Then E2, E3....... Up to E10, (I think) is the highest Enlisted Grade.

O1 is a 2nd Lieutenant in Army and AF
02, Lt - 03, Capt..... Up to O10 for a 4 Star General

The Navy and Marines are similar but they have different names. Here's a website with the pay grades.

BTW, I was in AF for 4 yrs, 3 mos and 13 days.

All members of the Armed Forces use the same paychart. Here is the most current one.

The different services may call people different things. What matters is your PAY GRADE, not your title. For instance, the Army, Air Force and Marines call an O-3 a Captain. The Navy and Coast Guard call an O-3 a Lieutenant, and call an O-6 (much much much more senior) a Captain.

Yes, all branches of the military share the same pay chart. An E-1 in the Marines gets paid the same base pay as an E-1 in the Army.

Once you go to a combat zone there are other entitlements and extra pay, but you have to be in theater for a certain amount of time to receive them.

I was in the Navy and we all the base pay for all branches is E-1 the lowest in enlisted..same applies I believe for Marines and Army. Officers start at O-1.

Basically, the determining factors are whether you are enlisted or officer and how many years you have in plus the current rank you hold.

For example and e-1 in the army and e-1 in the marines make the same if they enlisted on the same day.
