Existence is futile.

No, just kidding. It's the resistance that's futile. Always trips me up.

We exist because God exists. God exists because it's inherent in his nature to exist. He is Necessary Being. He cannot not-exist.

Since everything has a cause, everything's existence also has a cause. Nothing can come from nothing. Everything has to come from something already existing.

For that reason, if there were ever a time when literally nothing existed, then nothing would exist today. Therefore, there must be something which has always existed, which is the source of everything else that exists. This is God.

It's commonly argued, "if everything has a cause then God must have a cause." I would answer, "if God has a cause then he's not God. Whatever caused him is God."

This is what makes God unique, so far beyond us, and limitless in power and knowledge: that he is the one thing that does not need to be caused by something else. He is the First Cause.

God exists because He is God. God was not created. He simply is, was, and always will be. We exist in order to bring glory to God. To worship Him. Because God exists, we have a purpose for living. God is completely holy. He DESERVES our utter adoration.

That is the fundamental theological question, the one that the "big bang" theory doesn't satisfactorily answer, at least for me: why is there anything at all? Why does the universe exist, and time, and space, because I don't think saying that it just is, is a sufficient answer. Then the question of why there are humans is, in my opinion, part of the bigger question of why there is anything -- any matter, any energy, any time, any space, and where it came from. Even the big bang started with SOMETHING, not nothing.

For the answer to your Q. go to God. Do not pretend you know how to pray. Do not try to flatter Him. Be honest, express your unbelief. Ask about the sacrifice of Jesus offered to the world and to God as the way to reconcile man to his Creator.
If you really want to know the truth, God will answer. Positively!
(in his time) You keep looking for him.

P.S. as for the bib bang theory, yes, it's true.
God spoke and BANG!

Life is tenacious and opportunistic, it will exist whenever and where ever possible. Gods are mans creations, the Life-Force prompts life and exists naturally in the Universe.

"We are visitors on this planet. We are here for ninety or one hundred years at the very most. During that period, we must try to do something good, something useful, with our lives. If you contribute to other people's happiness, you will find the true goal, the true meaning of life."
