Yes you can glue some in, of course the glue is bad, but if you find a good extension artist it shouldn't do much damage at all, but the ones you braid in or sew into braids actually are (if applied with the correct amount of tension) good for the new hair, as it is braided and protected from a lot of weathering it would normally go through if it were loose. Your hair will still grow with the glue, the glued part is on the hair, not the follicle in your scalp skin, it has no effect on the growth of the hair. If your extension stylist screws up really bad, it is possible to hurt the hair where it is glued enough that it will break at that spot, but the actual growth at the follicle will not be inhibited.

I would suggest you use the clamps the person above mentioned. They have different names ...infusion, microrings, etc. You can have these clamped in with little pliers...or they have rings that react to heat and shrink down on the hair like shrink wrap. The chances of these hurting your hair are very slim.

I actually had some of the site doctoredlocks and they worked well. You might experience a bit of discomfort, because your scalp has to deal with extra weight and tension on the follicles. It feels like if you wear a tight ponytail all day and then let your hair down, you know how it feels weird because your follicles have to reposition themselves, but it goes away an should never be very painful.

Go to a good extension artist, and if something hurts real bad whether braided or infusion, its not right and it needs to be removed before it causes tension alopecia (too much stress on the follicle causes the hair to fall out)

Also....make sure you get good quality hair, it really makes a difference. Good luck!

I think hair extensions are ICK no matter how you get them...I've never seen ANY that look good and natural. However, I think the MOST natural looking ones are when they are clamped to individual strands of your hair or when they are glued in long lines to your scalp. Do some research on Yahoo or Google and go ask a professional.

Why don't you just try the small braids at the root of your hair and let the rest of the hair out.

Here's an example of what I mean

you can't tell it's braided at the roots
