It was just a name. The shark image was handy.
If the system ever decides to let me change the image again the name will change with it. I have entered the new image through the 360 page picture but Y!A has not recognized it yet, although it did flash it on for a few minutes yesterday.

Seimerthyr is a compound word from the Gaelic Seimh - meaning calm, peaceful and Merthyr - meaning witness or martyr or defender.
My heritage is Celtic and my real name is also rooted in the term witness or martyr.
Hence the blending of the two, a calm defender.

I have been told plenty of times by people who would know that the little girl, Lilo, in the movie Lilo and Stitch reminds them of me when I was small. I do see reasons for that. But I'm not Native Hawaiian like Lilo, so I use "Green Eyed" as a shorthand for that.

I started out with the name "hot_air" as a bit of self deprecating humor but it quickly became a point of contention when I would attempt to answer serious questions so I simply changed it to "got_air".
