Actually, in all probability, NOT 25th December. The Bible says that there were sheep on the hillsides and lambs are mentioned. During the winter, the shepherds would have brought the sheep down from the hills and I have it on great authority (my niece who works on a sheep farm that even though Israel is slightly warmer than Britain, lambs are still born in the spring.

Possibly Jesus' actual birthday would have been between March and May; we'll never know.

25th December became the date because there was a pagan mid-winter festival and the early missionaries would have thought that they could superimpose Christ for the pagan dieties and therefore slip Christianity into the public psyche a bit more easily.

Personally, as a born again Christian, I have as little to do with Christmas as possible because I don't think it has much to do with Christs' birth. The most I do do is to give presents to my family and close friends, basically because it's habit and it's expected.

Nobody knows. Birthdays weren't important to the Jews of Jesus's day, and the date wasn't recorded. We can be reasonably confident that the date of his baptism in the Jordan was 6th January, but that's the earliest date we've got. Some people have had a go at fixing the date from the information at the beginning of Luke's gospel, but this is all a bit vague and contradictory.

The Romans liked birthdays so when the Roman empire took Christianity on board in the year 321AD, they started celebrating Christmas. The date replaced the birthday of one of the Roman pagan gods.

There is no registration. In that time nobody was compelled by law to register the birth day. If you put aside the historic Jesus and believe in the Cosmic Jesus, then the things are different. The Cosmic Jesus is a divine strength that bears inside each prepared heart. And so... Jesus will be born someday into you... in your heart... and so you will know it clearly.,

Nobody knows. The early Christians adopted The pagan feast of Saturnalia 25Th December as his birthday. To be strictly accurate we should be celebrating it on 6th January as the Russians do or at least did because when we removed 11 days from the calender to correct the fact we had not allowed for leap years the actually day moved to the 6th January
Sorry Zed but there is no record of that census any case roman censuses were done to be able to impose taxes and they needed to know where people were living and working not where they came from.

Nobody knows. The only reason December 25th is used to celebrate it is because a Pope decided to make that the date some time in the 3rd century, to compete with a local pagan religion.

Of course, this is all assuming that Jesus even historically existed in the first place. That's debatable.

It is unknown as to which day Jesus Christ was born, but most suspect that December isn't the right season. Apparently the shepherding season were in fall or spring, so during those time frames but I guess we won't know until His glorious appearing.

Monday's child is fair of face.
Tuesday's child is full of grace.
Wednesday's child is full of woe.
Thursday's child has far to go.
Friday's child is loving and giving.
Saturday's child works hard for a living,
But the child who is born on the Sabbath Day
Is bonny and blithe and good and gay.

So it's either Tuesday, Friday or Sunday. Actually, might not be Sunday what with the preaching against gays and stuff.

I read a book once that argued for Passover. Based on when John The Baptist was born, then add on how sooner Elizabeth got pregnant than Mary.

Jesus was sent to be THE PASSOVER LAMB WHO TAKES AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD; so Passover would fit in with it.
