i am throwing a party for little girls too with my girl scout troop. im running the nail table with my friends, someone is going to run the kareoke, (last year they LOVED that), and they r having 2 craft tables. one is a paper pumpkin lantern. you take a peice of paper, fold it in half, then cut all the way up the paper, but be sure to leave about an inch or so uncut. do that every half inch. roll the paper so that the 2 ends meet exactly into a lantern shape. draw a face BEFORE you cut the paper if u want to make a jack-o-lantern. then add a stem by gluing a brown strip of paper to the top. that would be good for your 10 year old, maybe the 7 year olds if theyre advanced. another craft would be a ghost lolipop. it is really easy and the kids love them. you get a lolipop, put a tissue on it, and tie a ribbon at the end of the candy part. then draw a face on it. another game idea is a felling game. cut a hole in a box big enough to put an arm but not big enough to see through. put spaghetti (without sauce) under a box, and put olives into another. that can be " eyes" and "veins" and have the girls guess what they really are. think of other things that feel gross. like jell o could be "brains". then have some baby wipes next to the table so they can wipe their hands off. another good craft for the 7 year olds would be to get orange bags with handles and decorate it and that could be their trick or treat bag or just a bag they will hold their prizes in from the party. i suggest stickers or stick ons for the little ones so they dont get their costumes ruined. you could also have "grab bags". put one of those cheap little halloween toys (or a set of stickers or candy) into a paper bag, staple it, and put it into a bin and let each girl take 1 as she leaves. that could be a goddie bag. another thing you could have is a costume contest, but one that everyone gets an award. like one could be "most original" and another " most creative" and so on. well, that is all i can think of. i hope everything goes well! by the way, i think the fortune telling is a great idea. we did that at the halloween party for the little kids, and it was a big hit!

How about a scary story time? You could build a "tent" by draping blankets over chairs and take turns telling scary stories with a flashlight. Or you could get borrow some scary story books from the library and read them with spooky music turned on. :) For craft ideas, maybe you can buy some cheap tempera paint and have them paint each other's faces and have a contest.

Get styrofoam slabs from the hardware or craft store. Cut out and paint tomb stones, ghosts, etc.
Take styrofoam ball, insert dowel rod, place dowel into used soda bottle. Soak old material in strong laundry starch, place over styrofoam. Arrange in ghostly fashion. Paint when dry.
Rice Krispy treat balls and candy corn jack-o-lanterns.
