Even though Rem.-Rand 1911A1's, along with all the other war production variants were military contract pistols, it is highly unlikely they were issued with Colt factory grips. Most military models had unmarked wood or hard rubber grips, depending on which was the issuing service, & where the weapon was first put in service.
My own R-R 1911A1 (my first 'legal' aquisition, some 35 years ago) had smooth laquered grip panels on it, which I seriously doubt were the original issue, and I would guess that Colt grips would be a later addition, as well.

Not likely. In the beginning, some manufacturing equipment was still unavailable and this caused Remington Rand to acquire parts from other sources to complete the early pistols. They purchased barrels from High Standard, Colt, and Springfield Armory; disconnectors from US&S; grip safeties from Colt; and slide stops from Colt and Springfield Armory (2,865 left over from WWI).
I'd have to pull a grip off mine, made in 1943, to get the name of the company who made the grips.
RR made more 1911A1s than Colt, Ithaca, US & S, and Singer combined.

it is your question and additionally you're unfastened to pose it in the way maximum favorable on your Glock habit, yet you're getting tiresome. enable's attempt this try, rather: placed the Glock and the M1911 in an oven at 450 stages and bake for an hour. which fits to artwork afterwards? (hint: that's the single that still feels like a gun.) stupid try? definite! yet no sillier than the single you intend. Which handgun has been although extra damaging circumstances for longer classes of time? The M1911, palms-down. 2 international Wars, Korea, Vietnam and many smaller strikes in each style of circumstance which you may think of. This is composed of immersion in salt water, slogging via dirt, snow and something an American soldier, sailor or airman has had to undergo from deserts to the Antarctic. No significant protection tension business enterprise has ever accompanied the Glock. some smaller forces, definite, and a few truly professional contraptions. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, even between SOCOM contraptions, the Glock isn't a significant participant. Glock's share of the police marketplace is declining. Smith & Wesson M&P, Springfield XD and different manufacturers are changing Glocks in lawmens' holsters. the biggest regulation enforcement handgun orders in historic past went to H&ok and SIG Sauer. the biggest order in U.S. protection tension historic past went to Beretta. Glock followers make a huge deal a pair of Glock pistol firing a hundred,000 rounds yet distinctive different pistol fashions have additionally fired that many rounds without significant factor replacements. it is to not placed down the Glock. you in straightforward terms could desire to renowned it isn't the be-all, end-all pistol for each individual.

RRs were made under contract along with quite a few others, US&S, etc. The sub contractors did not make 100% of their components; springs were purchased from a spring manufacturer located, I think, in New Jersey; many barrels were made by High Standard; the list goes on. A plastics manufacturer most likely made a standard grip and different contractors purchased them. It would not be cost effective to set up a manufacturing facility for everything when you could sub contract for common usage items such as grips, springs, screws, yada. Such is one of the advantages of standardized production.

It would be unusual. Remington Rand 1911A1's are very collectable along with those made by Singer Sewing Machine Co. and Union Switch and Signal.
