Halloween of course!

Ok maybe you need more than that. Arts and crafts are always fun. I don't know how advanced Preschoolers are nowadays (my youngest niece is 11 so preschool was a long time ago). If you are already doing simple math, create a haunted house and have them count ghosts/goblins/witches. Have them make up a spooky story and save it to a book so you can share with others on Halloween. One idea would be "How would you convince a witch to be a nice witch?" or "What do ghost eat for dinner" and make up a silly menu. Make up a hide and seek game, hiding the witches broom/hat/black cat, with only small clues as to where to find the items.

Hope that helps. Have fun!!

I see that November 1 is National Author's Day. Check this web site:

Maybe you could make it Book Week and encourage the children to make books. Start by teaching book skills, things like what is the author's job? Illustrator's job? Read a lot of books and talk about whether the story is real or pretend. Let the children tell their own stories, even if it's just me and mommy went to WalMart and I got new shoes. Then you could make little books for them to draw pictures in and you could take dictation from them about their stories. Be sure to write titles on the books and show their names as the author/illustrator.
