is the 80gb ps3 really worth it because i have all the money its just its incredibly expensive ?

that or an xbox 360 because i have an xbox or at least my brother does and i just want a console in my room with unbeliavable graphics, wont break, and excellent live and the ps3 has all the games i like its just is it really worth it to be 500$$$$ and i have had the red ring of death three times but not since we got a new xbox.

The PS3 isn't all that expensive and yes it's worth it. I paid $685 for my 60GB PS3 back in December 2006, so $500+ for the 80GB isn't that bad, plus it comes with a free game, and the game is a $60 dollar value also. But really I recommend the 60GB even though it doesn't come with a free game because the backwards compatibility is worth it.

The PS3 is very reliable. I've had mine for a little over 10 months and I haven't had any problems. The Xbox 360 is just too faulty of a game console to even consider buying.

Plus with the PS3, you get every thing you will ever need built in: Bluetooth, Digital Camera Memory Card Slots, Built in WiFi, the Blu-Ray player, and a web browser. If you were to purchase everything separately for the Xbox 360 to allow it to do what the PS3 can do, you would have spent more money than if you would have just boght the 80GB PS3 to begin with.

Just go with the PS3, when Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War 3, Killzone 2, and other awesome PS3 exclusives come out you will want to have a PS3, trust me!

Preowned PS3s are often a great deal - try ebay. Also, do you mean $500? Thats quite an amazing price - only £250! (Pardon me if you are in america!). A PS3 can do so much more than the Xbox - in my opinion, it looks better, it is graphically more powerful, and plays blu-ray out of the box. Also, it doesnt break =D

I like the xbox 360 elite better! Live is also pretty good.
