Your ethnicity, if you were born here, is American. If not, then it is your country of origin. A more slightly complex answer is you ancestral history of the country of origin ( where your ancestors/parents are from). Ethnicity (background) and Race ( skin color and is socially constructed) are two different things.

chinese language homie! I surely have Asian satisfaction! (surely, Malyasian satisfaction.) i become born in Penang, Malyasia and immigrated to u . s . in April 2001. for the reason that i did not talk fluent English lower back then, i become failing college. besides the incontrovertible fact that, issues began looking up as quickly as I while i become finally on a roll. i ended 1st grade in 2 months. that's a brains and smarts of a chinese language-Malaysian!
