Moriaes Fate says, 'For the billionth time... atheists do not care what you believe so long as you leave us out of your little fantasy.'
Are you trying to convert me to atheism? Ain't gonna happen? I was there, all of us were.
WHY NOT BE TOLERANT and leave the section for people who really want to discuss and debate religious issues? Seriously. You must know it is evil just for the purposes of being wicked and cruel?

K For Him
I think the issue here is, why do some of those who espouse atheism seem so abusive and angry and spiteful in their questions and responses. I have a college degree, a successful career and great kids/wife. All that, and I believe in God and Jesus, and personal salvation in heaven. That doesn't make me weak minded or silly or stupid (although I have read those exact words about Christians here on this forum). I am smart, and I am saved.
Sadly, most of the people here are mean. They like to mock people who are not world-wise and sarcastic and cynical. I would assume the average age here would be about 12, judging by some of the juvenile, bullying and cruel responses .
Please remember, there are plenty of Christians out there who will support you in your faith. Do not look here for that. These people are mockers and cynics who will tear into you because of your beliefs. They will call you intolerant, empty headed, naive, stupid and, I am sure, things that can't be printed here. Let it go and turn away. These folks are lost to their un-Godly ways and beliefs (I refer especially to the moron who said he would spit in God's face if he ever met him). Pray for the wicked, and talk to people one on one, when you get the chance, about Jesus and his plan for us.
I for one am probably giving up on Yahoo Answers for a while. These guys are mean and not constructive to my growth and development in faith. I recommend you do the same, or at least don't invest in it too very much. There are better avenues for your time.

Another day, another diet cherry Pepsi.
Honey, I'm a Christian who belongs to the Catholic church, and I have no problems with atheists, Wiccans, Buddhists, or anyone else participating in this Forum. It's the Religion and Spirituality sectiom, not "Just My Narrow Little Belief System So Nobody Else Can Play Here."
Another thing: those who don't agree with me aren't "evil for the purposes of being wicked and cruel." They have different beliefs, that's all. I think you'll find that a little tolerance goes a long way here, and if you're willing to listen with an open mind, you might learn a lot here.

I actually DO want to discuss and debate religious issues, you guys NEED atheists here, otherwise there would be very little debating going on. Also, it's a free forum and I can go, post, ask, and answer wherever I like, and no one can truly stop me from doing it. I only really ask questions, as well as respond to questions, that peak my interests, and yes, to debate. Atheists have every right to be here as you do. We just come from different view points. I am tolerant, in and out of this section. And yes, it is evil just to be wicked and cruel, but you do not see many atheists do that now do you? Only theists....;)

So whether or not a deity exists is not a religious issue? There are several religions that are atheistic. Look at the development of Buddhism; there are important refutations of theism in Dharmakirti and other writers from these traditions. Besides, theist must be addressed, since they insist on voting with their delusions.

Why are Christians in the R&S section, don't you have church to go to?
And I think it's ironic that a member of a prosthelitizing religion is upset at the notion that someone of a different belief might be trying to convert someone.
Most Atheists don't believe in "evil", so they couldn't "know" that making you question your faith is "Evil".

Why should I tolerate superstitions that have harmed humanity all throughout our history? You claim tolerance yet you pass laws discriminating against people different than yourself. You claim you're peaceful yet wage wars. You claim the moral high ground while acting immorally. You claim justice yet torture prisoners.
When you stop being ruled by superstition and start living a sane life ruled by reason, tolerance, morality, peace, compassion, justice and understanding I will stop pointing out the errors of whatever belief you claim. Until that day don't ask me to keep quite about the discrepancies in what you say compared to what you do just because it makes you uncomfortable.
EDIT: LMAO refute just one of my claims. Just one...
Tolerance: Can gays marry yet?
Peace: Didn't your Christ led warrior of god, Bush, wage an illegal and amoral war on Iraq?
Morals: Priest pedophiles.
Justice: Gitmo
See how I can back up what I say with FACTS?
I served my country in the US Army, what have you done for America besides dumb it down?

I can stand being told I am going to hell without it bothering me in the least but it seems some, not all, christians cannot tolerate challenges to their beliefs. It makes your faith look weak when you whine like that.
Edit: What makes you think I believe in hell? Just because I hear it now and then. I do not believe hell to be a real place, it is merely a means of negative reinforcement to keep the flock together.

Why not be tolerant? Here's why.
If you're OK letting people believe what they want, then I believe that all Jews are evil sinners. Let's kill them...
If you think that it was long ago in a faraway land that this happened last, Germany was a very modern, technically advanced, democratic country at the time. Yes- it can happen again.
We're here to keep the discussion appropriate. If we weren't here, you'd be quoting Leviticus 20:13 and gathering your fellow theists to go out and kill the gay people.

According to last nights count, this question has been asked over 58,000 times. Let's think about why an atheist may want to have their opinion heard here. Could it be that the religious right is attempting to take over the US government and pass their beliefs as the law of the land. Beliefs that not all US citizens agree with and that not even all Christians agree with. That is just the beginning of why they are here.

Because there is no 'atheism and agnosticism' section :P
Maybe there are people here, unlike yourself, who are generally curious about religion, despite not being particularly religious. Why cant someone whos not religious debate religious issues?
Im totally tolerant of other peoples religions, btw. Unless, they a) are forced on me, b) encourage bigotry and predjudice, or c) get in the way of progress.
