I read thru Rev Chap 6 and the 1st part of Chap 7 and I wonder as a matter of interperatation, is it likely that we in this time are on the brink of the opening of the 7 seals, of the Lord if not actually in the middle of it? (I'm thinking 4th seal in my opinion)
We live in a time where our economic situation in the US is in upheaval. The recent problem with China, and all the contaminated pet food products, and our own situation with the corn for food or fuel issue, price increases and shortages. If our own government can't determine when pet food is tainted or toys for that matter, how long will it be before the food for human consumption is contaminated. (rice meal in babby food?)
Is it possible that we are experiencing the 4 horsemen now, and that soon more is to come? Fires, drought, earthquakes, flooding, fears of pandemics or plagues, global warming, hints of WWIII, brutal random killings. This was the Revelation of Jesus to John regarding the last days? any thoughts?

Hey folks, lets get it right it's Revelation singular not plural. and It's not an easy boot to understand as it was not written to us, but has a promise for a blessing for all that read of it.

I aagree with most, answers that share that we should e more conserned with the other portions of Scripture, But Like Paul in Titus 2:11-14 I am looking for that Glorious Appearing, that he was looking for. As a christian I want and long to be in heaven, and I'm tired of the decadence we have to be constantly exposed to.

I for one am not concerned with the END of the world, as I know what God has instore is not really the end. It is also a wake up call in my opinion for Christians to get on the stick and get with the fundamental of sharing this glorious message of Salvation as much as possible.

Revelation of Jesus...
a good thing to know.

Some really good answers, fundamental and like minded as well. Some were just not worth reading.

I am partial to those that think like me so in order to be absolutly objective I will leave the choosing of the best answer to you all.

Regardless of Pre, Mid, or Post viewpoints. we will be caught up to be with Jesus in the air, the dead 1st and then those alive, and it will be done in less than a blink. The Glorious appearing thats what we want, as John said in the Word "Come lord Jesus, even so Lord Come".

Parise Him while we wait a spread His message of salvation to all persons, while we still can. Jesus Loves You.

The first 6 seals have already been opened.

By using the term “seven seals,” John figuratively expresses that there are seven different stages of human development that naturally occur when free-willed beings are allowed to act on their own accord. Life experience must allow for these seven stages to occur in order for the being to arrive at the final stage of human development—Divine Enlightenment, or recognizing and accepting who we really are.

To come to this conclusive seventh stage, we must pass through all of the other six stages in mortality; therefore, by our own experience, attaining a proper realization of what truly makes us happy. As human societies go through each stage, certain effects are experienced. These effects are illustrated figuratively by John as he describes each seal being opened, or loosed, and then relates what happens during each particular stage.

In his metaphoric writings, John gives each stage 1000 years of time in which to take place, allowing enough time for successful experience so that we learn from one stage before going on to the next.

Those chosen to oversee the completion of each stage are given the knowledge and power to do so. This knowledge and power is described and written in “the book” and sealed away from any who are not worthy to use it properly. To oversee God’s plan of salvation for His creations in this particular solar system, one must have the capability to do so, just as God would do it Himself. Christ is the one prepared to do this, which John beautifully expresses figuratively in Revelation 5.

...For the first four thousand years, while abiding by the laws of nature which govern the earth, the angels of God allow the human race to do whatever it is inclined to do according to the desires of the people. It is important to note again that the seals represent general time frames of human progression and do not specifically occur in 1000 year intervals. However, the advanced Beings who control the course of this solar system know, by their experience, that it usually takes about 1000 years of mortal life for the transitions from one stage to another to take place.

...The “seven seals” symbolize the seven necessary steps outlined in the “Book of Life” (thus the book being sealed with seven seals) necessary to graduate through the stages of the “human experiment” on this earth. This in essence becomes a trial or probationary period in which those who do not understand the full effects of happiness, will, after experiencing what doesn’t make them happy. John’s figurative horses and riders demonstrate the different stages of this wonderful scientific exploration of happiness called mortality.

I'm holding to the "thief in the night" thing. Any time a human says they can predict when it is all going down could only be lucky if they got it right. Also, why do so many people buy into a system of thought that has only been around for about 125 years? The early Christians didn't get caught up in this tribulation/rapture crap. They expected Christ to come back, but Darby has got us all screwed up.

I don't know that much about history. My father tells me this things have always been... Fires, drought, earthquakes, flooding, fears of pandemics or plagues, global shifts and deceases have always been part of our evolution. however hundreds of years or thousands of years ago we did not have the media to transmit so much information simultaneously to the world like we do now days. I think when this seven seals are broken one by one we will know it without a doubt because it will come with an undeniable aggressiveness that we will all turn in fear to God.

If you're truly interested in the message contained in Revelations you should consider researching other translations of the Bible and also the circumstances that John found himself in when he had the visions he described there.Almost every century since the Bible was first compiled has seen its share of catastrophe that men have attributed to "the end times" and yet the human race is still here :)

I see these current events more in the view of humanity's social fabric coming apart, mainly due to various groups trying to establish dominance over others, the planet is heavily overpopulated, resources are strained to the breaking point and the number of human beings just grows larger with each passing day......the will be plenty of bloodshed around the world for the forseeable future, it will only end when people realize that everyone is unique in their views and beliefs and learn to respect others for that uniqueness.....only then will the human race evolve......

I think it is all in how it is interpreted. But as I read it was there not supposed to be a huge rapture before all those things? Revelations is so hard to understand! I know one thing we will defiantly know when Jesus comes back, Hallelujah!

Is it possible that we are experiencing the 4 horsemen now

It isn't very likely.

Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered them, "See that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.
