I've always been a Christian. But I hate myself for things I did before my faith was really strong. It started with a game.

In the game, you answer innocent trivia. If you're right, you do a skit--like immitate a fashion model (vanity) or pretend to be a snail in love (lust). After you do the skit, you go forward. Eventually, moving forward takes you to a circle called Hell; first one there wins. The game's called 7 Deady Sins...but we only did the silly skits.

But the worst thing is, to decide turns, you have to roll a 6 three times! The first time I played, I recall not thinking much of it. I thought it was a silly game. I didn't know that blasphemy is insulting God. (Not that I meant to!) The last time was yrs ago. I may have understood blasphemy then. When it was my turn to roll, I said, "I'm afraid of this number. Let me roll another." But my friends said no. Eventually, I said "Fine, but for the record, I am NOT evil." I rolled. Now I'm sick with regret.

The bad news is that it is blasphemy.
The good news is that for the sake of his son, God forgives us all of our sins.

If it would make you feel better talk to your pastor about it, but try not to dwell on it,because that is just what Satan wants us to do.

I would say this is not blasphemy. After all, you didn't say anything about God, did you? It's just the Sins.
(literal definition: 1) A contemptuous or profane act, utterance, or writing concerning God or a sacred entity.
2) The act of claiming for oneself the attributes and rights of God.)

The number itself is debatable--yes, there is a "number of the beast" in Revelations, but the triple 6 is only the primary translation. I have heard (can't track the references at the moment) there are other versions: 6 to the 6th power to the 6th power, for example. The freak-out over it is fairly recent. There were a lot of stories last June about it (June 6, 06), and that's what I recall reading.
This is a non-Christian game, and likely an anti-religious game for anyone (term is Christian, but those are bad things in almost every faith). And you "go to Hell" in order to win? Uh-uh, not a nice game--but it does not fall into the definition of blasphemy.

If you don't mind, I will offer a course of action. The 1st thing you can do is not play any more, which it appears you have done. The next thing, as it still bothers you, is to find a nice, understanding minister or priest in your faith & explain this to him (her?). Add on how truly remorseful you are to have done this, even though you were young & ignorant at the time. Hopefully, he can set your mind at ease

Blasphemy is speaking against God. While the game you were playing has dark overtones to it and it is certainly not a "Christian" game, God knows your heart and it's no different than an innocent child putting on a witches costume and going out to get candy on Halloween. The child isn't thinking about supporting something the Bible speaks against. All they are doing is going out to have fun and get candy. There is a principle in the Bible whereby believers are called to walk in the light that they have received from God. If you didn't think it was wrong then you were not sinning in your heart and the Bible doesn't mention the game you were playing as being a sin.

By the way you're "sick with regret" it's obvious that you have a repentant heart about the matter. If you've asked God's forgiveness, then you have nothing more to worry about and you should let it go. This is one way the devil keeps us down - by making us feel unforgiven. Every time you feel that way, just say to yourself or even outloud, "This, too was paid for by the Blood of Jesus and I HAVE been forgiven."

God bless!

You worry too much. You make it sound like God has a stick up his as# and has zero tolerence and will smite you just like that.

I'm pretty sure God is much more fun, loving, and carefree then what many people believe him to be. And ETERTITY for one mistake makes no sense to me. That's like saying everyone who IS in Heaven right now is only there until they screw up and then BAM!!, they get cast out for all eternity. EVen human souls will make mistakes from time to time. I don't think God is that mean and ruthless and intolerable.

That is truly pathetic, to be afraid of a number.

Numerology is just another superstition like religion, and superstitions are tricks invented to scare people into obeying their "master," "lord," "king," or other synonym for a despotic ruler.

I find it telling that the same words used to refer to absolute rulers, which were universal when all these "holy" scriptures were written, are also used to refer to the biggest ruler of all, that imaginary "king of kings" up there in the sky...somewhere...oh yes, we're quite sure he's there..."Dear Lord, oo you are so very big"..."We're all quite impressed down here, I can tell you"..."And now let us bow our heads and grovel"...

Excuse me, but are you serious? Are some of these answers here serious? I don't understand people who make religion complicated with psychological trapdoors, pitfalls and secret sins. You can't believe in that kind of supersitious nonsense and **at the same time believe in any kind of a just and loving god**.

Pray and ask God to search you and find every sin and ask to be cleansed and forgiven in Christ Jesus. Tell Him how sorry you are, and how you feel, and let Him take away the regret, and the guilt, only He can make you feel better and forgiven. God Bless

this could be considered Blasphemy because you are mocking God by palying a game that makes you do the things this does. Now if you are truly saved then repent from what you have done and then move forward from it.
