First I would tell the harasser that their advances and or attentions are unwanted and unwelcome.
If that didn't make it stop I would take the necessary steps with my employer or the harasser's employer to make it stop.
If it wasn't handled at that level, I would contact an attorney and file a lawsuit.

I just accepted it. I am not recommending this course of action. At the time I felt it was better to just deal with the problem myself then rock the boat. Maybe I should have rocked it a little. It's hard to tell now.

I still kind of have issues with it, but whether it was brought to light or not, nothing would be 'resolved' in my own head.

I kept it to myself, but I don't recommend that. I generally support blowing the whistle on the SOBs that do it.

DOCUMENT IT-
tape them, have a real crediable witness, tape record a message, get proof.

In this modern world, the sad reality is, the victim seems to get hurt over and over again in a business setting.

I actually HAD this happen. I just got real "balls-ie" and told them "to give me my space" and continued to keep them at arms length and actually slapped his hand with my stabler one when he put it on my shoulder at work. Oops a mosquito! Sooo Sorry! as I rolled my chair back over his foot. Damn did I get that roach? He got the message Loud and clear!

HR was in the "good ole boy" system and I finally had enough and found another job, and make a point to stop by two later and tell my replacement WHY- I quit.

Well for a woman who has experienced this there are alot of things I should have done, but I was too afraid to do so. I have to say that I should have in some cases prosecuted the persons who violated me.

I don't think anyone should be or get subjected to any sexual abuse by anyone and we should not put up with it anymore. I give my blessings to those like myself who don't have the balls to do anything about it, and my hats off to those strong women who did!

Depends on how threatening the harassment was. If I felt that my safety was at risk, then I would go to the authorities and report it. If it was just some guy being a dick and trying to cop a cheap feel, then I would cuss him out and embarrass him in front of...coworkers, friends...i don't know what kind of setting you are in....

I would contact the police! Don't take stuff like that lightly because it can always develope into worse things. If this happened in the work place, inform your employer immediately. File a police report and possibly get a restraining order from this person.

I know it wont be a popular answer but I think you first need to determine whether you were really truly harrassed or if you are being over sensitive. How many times did it happen? Did you tell the person to stop and they didnt? etc etc etc

Well if he is doing it to you at the time if it were me, I would catch him off gurard by raising my voice enough so that EVERYONE could here and let him know that touching you there or saying that is not acceptible and is considered to be SEXUAL HARRASSMENT! That should get his attention enough, along with everyone elses. Report him to someone of authority... If he is authority contact the police.

Report it to my line managers(s) if i was at work, to the police if it was somewhere else. Get witnesses, keep a log and tell the person concerned they are sexually harassing you and it's not acceptable. Don't mess about with this, act on it.

Depends. If it was outside of work, I would inform the police. If it was inside of work, I would inform the police and the head boss in there. I had a sup that told us that he like younger women around my age, and kept putting his arms around me and another girl. We went straight to the president of that management and that sup was fired and he moved out of state.
GOOD LUCK!
