I lost my back teeth first so got dentures, then as my front teeth went I had more teeth added. I had about 4 impressions and fittings and then I got my dentures. There were a couple of comfort issues to start with that were very quickly resolved and when I had teeth added it took just 2 days to have the teeth placed on the plate and when the plate came to the dentist she took out my teeth and put the plate straight in. I have a gum disease and although if I could change one thing I would def have my own teeth back I am glad I had the false ones fitted. I only have 7 teeth left now and 5 are very loose. If I can find the time I will be having the last of my top teeth out before x-mas. I never suffered hardly any pain at all, I would say it was more discomfort than anything. When I had it done I joined a dental plan and I paid just £800 for both sets including all extractions, x-rays and fittings etc. It will make you feel much better and certainly look better too. Good luck.

When shopping for dentures- shop for the dentist who has the most experience doing them, not the cost of the appliances. The actual dentures are only part of the whole treatment.

In all honesty, cheap dentures are the last thing you want. You also need to get the treatment plan in writing outlining what all is covered for how much money and what the "extras" cost.
Ask if relines and adjustments are covered? Ask whether the dentures they supply you with will be replaced in 6-12 months with a better fitting set or will they just reline the ones you get initially?

San Francisco is about $2000 to $3000. Even cheaper inThailand. Plan a vacation around having dental work done. Lots of Mexican border towns specialize in dental work for Americans
