I have had it for a couple of weeks now, had an ecg and it came out fine.

I have had an ecg and it came out okay. I sleep okay as the pain/discomfort only comes when i am upright or seated. Pain is centrally located between my shoulder blades (towards the left) but the pain in my breast is sporatic and is not constant as with my back pain.

Try your Bra, or not wearing one, if not changing the style. You might want to be measured for a Bra. Yes I know it sounds stupid, but remember the Bra is suppose to hold things up and if it is to tight, ill fitting it will cause pain.

There's really not enough info here to suggest anything other than what your Dr. that ordered the EKG had. Does the pain radiate - go places OTHER than where you describe? Is it aggravated by exertion? Is it constant - does it come and go? What about the rest of you? How old are you? Weight? Meds? Blood Pressure? History of any vascular disorders - etc.? The point is - a dull ache could be anything from a muscle strain of the small muscles between the ribs - to a pleuritic infection or aggravation (lining of the chest wall) or it could be vascular problem in the vessels of the chest or abdomen. Or, it could be spinal in nature where bone spurs, etc. have been known to cause all kinds of havoc! Not trying to say anything - for sure (obviously) and I'm not trying to scare you - but its sort of like bringing your car to a mechanic and saying that is makes a sound and trying to get a fix based on that. Is is a clank, a boom, a bump sound? Does it always do it? Does it happen when you stop? Go? Idle? Start? I think you get the picture/ Bottom line - this could be nothing or it could be completely serious! See a Doc for a full physical - if you aren't satisfied with his/her impression - see another Doc - and another still until YOU are satisfied with a diagnosis or treatment plan.

It could be a bone spur in your back. I would have ex-rays of your spine taken and ask the doctor to look for bamboo spine.

It could also be something like this. Most bone spurs grow out, yours could be growing inward pressing against your spinal cord.
