We have a long-distance relationship where I only see her during the weekends (every weekend).
I bought her a white gold necklace for her birthday which is on a Tuesday and I don't know when to give it to her, the weekend before or the weekend after? Also, if I give it to her the weekend before should she open it when she is with me that weekend or the day of her birthday (although what I really want is for her to open it when I am with her, to see her reaction and how she likes it etc.).

What do you guys think I should do?

I'm a truck driver and deal with the same problem. Here's what you do. You get a second (cute/cheaper) gift. And give both to her the weekend before. Tell her to open the good one while you are there. Its better because she can be close to you when she gets the more personal gift. But tell her to save the other for her birthday. Let her know its just something simple and its just so she will have something to open on her birthday.

The weekend before. You're always more excited on the days leading up to your birthday than on the ones afterwards. I would personally feel like it wasn't a birthday present, just kind of here-ya-go gift if it was after my birthday.

So I would definitely say before.

Give it to her the weekend before. It will put her in a good mood for her birthday. Be there when she opens it too.

Give it to her the weekend before so she will have it on her birthday. Since you will not be there on her actual birthday you two can celebrate the weekend before.

Give it to her the weekend before, so she will know you didn't forget, and you'll get to see her face when she opens it. You could also maybe give her a card to open on the actual day, so she'll have two presents from you.

I say the weekend before and have her open it while you are there. She will have it to show and wear on her birthday.

Or if there is any possible way make a special trip to give it to her own her birthday. I think it would mean a lot to her.

could you buy her 2 presents one of them you give to her the weekend before her birthday (not the necklace) so she gets to open a pressie when she wants and then tell her that you have got her another pressie but she will have to wait till the weekend after her birthday to get it as you want to see her open it and it is a specail pressie, this will keep her guessing and makes the thrill of opening another pressie from you
