I know he will only be driving part time, but what will people be saying then. I'm not a Dale Jr. Hater!
I just rank drivers as I see them and I do think Mark Martin gets a lot out of his car everytime.
At times he is amazing!

Mark Martin is an amazing driver he has won a bunch of races although he has never a championship....yet.

Anyway, If he does well it has no reflection on Junior. Junior's cars have sucked we all know that, Junior gets no support from the team owners heck Teresa never even comes to the races. How can anyone win with lousy cars & no support?

Next year is a brand new year & DEI will have had plenty of time to right their wrongs & fix those horrible engines, who knows maybe they can improve. For Mark Martin I hope they do, that is the ONLY reason I hope DEI improves.

Junior will make his mark next year with cars he can count on & a team that will support him.

Go #88 in '08!

I read somewhere that the Budweiser sponsorship is going to go to Kasey Kahne and the No. 9 team. As for Martin stepping into Junior's #8 ride, I doubt it. He's semi-retired and loving it. Ginn joined with DEI knowing this. Chances are Mark will put himself out to pasture, and his stand-in will take over. This was a move to keep Ginn in business, not a move to give Martin a better ride. At any rate: Junior fans will go with Junior. It won't matter who races the #8 car. The big question will be WHO sponsors Junior. The number on the car is immaterial. Jeff Burton is still Jeff Burton and his fans still cheer for him even after he left the Rousch #99 ride for the RCR #31 Cingular/AT&T ride. Same with Bobby Labonte and the Gibbs #18 Interstate Batteries ride. He's in the #43! The KING's ride! And he still has his fan base, PLUS all the Petty fans who are probably still looking for the familiar STP logo on the side of the car.

Why did you implicate Dale Earnhardt Jr. with a win by Mark Martin. I'm sure Junior would rather see DEI win a few races than any other team. I just hope Mark Martin hooks DEI up with some comprehensive technicians, or i'm going to have to write a letter to DEI's engine department and give 'em a few tips. I was talking to one of my co-workers and said, "couldn't you build a motor that wouldn't blow up?" I don't think he realized that I was being dead serious. Those guys deserve a few wins, and if it's going to take Mark Martin to breathe some new life into DEI, i'm all for it. I seriously think Junior isn't getting the support he needs. Just by watching him drive, I know if he had a ride that wouldn't fail on him, it would be time to put out or shut up. Junior wants to win and Martin just wants to mentor.

Yeah he has come close so many times this year with better equipment? Outside of Daytona!

Personally I'd take any car with hendrick engines over the DEI grenades!

Jr. should win several races and Martin and Amirola should go 0 for the season!

I can't stand Hendrick and don't mind Jr. just an honest reflection of where the teams are at!

I'd just say congratulations. I honestly think DEI will have their engines figured out by Daytona. They've figured out how to make great power with the R07. If they can get it to stay together it wouldn't surprise me a bit to see the 8 in victory lane.

...Everyone respects Mark Martin. I hope he does win. I hope DEI does resolve their engine problems and what ever personal (or personel) problems they have as well.

...What's even more amazing is that even with the junk that DEI has been giving him he is still running further up in races than any other DEI drivers while his engines are still running.

...Jr has been wanting wins not consistency.

Mark is an incredible driver. However, the cup has eluded him all these years.

If he is driving part-time, and others drive full time, Mathematically it is impossible for him to get in the chase.

If he gets good engines, he stands a good chance of winning next year. By the way.....When was the last time Mark Martin won a race anyway?? Hmmmm...Yep, that is what I thought, lol.

I'll say Good for him. I wish him better luck in that car than Jr. had this year.

Go Jr.>>>>
