Outside is like a fridge this evening (northern England). Put it in a sealed container if you have one, and it will be safe outside overnight. If you don't have a sealed container, a bowl with a plate over the top will do, the whole tied tight in a plastic bag. Just think of inquistive cats or foxes. Don't leave it in a metal saucepan. (Something comes out of the metal that's no good for you.) If it's out of the sunshine tomorrow morning, it will be OK there until lunchtime. Boil itagain for several minutes and have it for lunch.
I grew up before people had fridges. We used to just put things in a cool place and drape a wet cloth over them - evaporation produces cooling (Remember your physics lessons?) But modern houses don't usually have cool larders.
Alternatively - make room in the fridge. You can always make a bit more space!
PS That's a great tip, above, about putting the soup in the fridge in a plastic bag, which will fit around other things. But make sure it's one without holes! And thanks, chef.
PPS At 7.30am the morning after writing the above, the outside temperature was still below freezing. A giant fridge indeed.

if ther is no meat or dairy in it i would keep it 2-3 days in a cool place. its got a better chance if its covered, sealed even better. if you ate some and it was a bit off it would probably not do anything serious to you, upset tummy maybe. its milk and meat and stuff that you need to be really careful with.
just make sure when you reheat it you let it boil for a few mins and youll be fine. some will be shocked at my reply but i would definetely eat it after 3 days. if it starts getting mouldy or smelling bad bin it, if not youll be ok.

double up a plastic bag. place open into a deep bowl. pour coolled down soup into it. Tie a knot or seal. It will fit into any nook or cranny in your fridge. If this isn't possible, make sure you microwave it or bring it to the boil at least twice a day and don't let anyone dip a wet spoon into it. Such a shame to waste soup after all that preparation.....

Why not store it in a thermos flask or sealed tupperware container. That will keep it fresh longer than nothing - but if you are in the UK you could put it on the windowsill & it would last longer than in the fridge anyway!

bacteria starts forming between 5-73 degrees celcius so its just not worth the tummy ache

As long as you bring it to the boil in the mornings it will keep pefectly well without being in the fridge.

i always make my own tomato soup and freeze it in bowls it lasts for upto 3months in the freezer have done this for the last 15years and never poisoned anyone

A couple of days well covered. I do this frequently. My grandmother and great grandmother before her did this too before there was refrigeration.
