I understand your frustration but let me give you another perspective. Most people when they ask questions about controversial subjects like religion, in their minds they already subconsciously have their own ideas about what the answer is. If your opinion is in direct opposition or makes their beliefs appear to be at fault, they immediately rush to defend what they believe is right to the point of insulting you and your opinion. Maybe they should stop to think that if they believe whatever it is that they believe so strongly to the point that they attack you and your opinion, why waste your time and theirs by asking the question in the first place if they don't have an open enough mind to look at it from a different perspective. Like they say, opinions are like *******, everyone has one. They don't have to like it or agree with it, but at least respect your right to have your own opinion. Don't let if get to you. Unfortunately, that's the way of the world these days.

Folks who can't provide an intelligent answer or response instead get defensive, hence, the ignorance. As I always said, we can agree to disagree, and be civil. Using hate words or slang can be hurtful, you gotta have tough skin in R&S! Ignore the ignorant, and embrace the intelligent, despite what they believe. We all breathe and bleed, and emotions can flare in this category more so than any other I visited. I'm sorry you spoken rudely to, no matter what religion or belief system.

Logic can be used from both sides. Some of the greatest philosophers throughout history believed and defended the existence of God. Your thinking isn't really fair to be truthful. You assume atheists don't have any bias. The truth is that everyone has their own bias... even atheists; but you should look at the quality of the argument to determine which answer is the better one.

It's human nature to want perfection so these poeple wouldn't want to be shown the imperfections of their beliefs. That's why you get the replies that you do, even though you're not to blame.
And the whole "i will pray for you" thing means that they think you're in the wrong, and that they hope you will believe what they believe.

We religious people are perhaps a tad touchy at times and sometimes we hit a raw nerve with each other, but as experience shows it is all in the game on this section.
