I made a stuipid mistake when I was 17 I had a child with an illegal immigrant I did not know he was illegal at the point but we have bought a house and a car together and are seperated. Can I be held liably for aiding and abedding an illegal immigrant if I didn't know?

If he misrepresented himself to you, then it can be argued effectively that you were a victim as well.

if you did not know, he did not tell and you did not ask? no way.
your child was born in the usa and is a citizen by birth.

one has to have the knowledge to know an offense had taken place. so now that you know in the future you can or could be hed liable, even though he is you baby's daddy.

Technically, you could. But it is highly unlikely you would be charged with anything. ICE is mainly concerned with sham marriages to allow residence statuses, mainly marriage for money. Also, having a baby together gets court sympathy and forgiveness by justifying you wanted the baby to have and know his father.

No, you can't. I assume you would be the only one listed on the car and house. They are yours. Take care of the child. Something very good came out of it, even if your relationship doesn't work out.

No, they never prosecute. And you were not employing them. You have nothing to worry about.

Here in the good ol USofA you can be charged with anything at anytime...And be convicted of anything at anytime....
But I don't think you have anything to worry about unless they can make a profit off of you...
