i bought a repo car in may but i could not drive it until i got it fixed so i figured i would wait to get a tag for it. a friend of mine informed me that i only had thirty days after purchase and now i will have to pay a fine. i was wondering if that was true

Unless your State has a registration and insurance law (like Florida) I don't believe there is a law. As long as you aren't driving it on the road. Many people buy cars to restore and do not tag them until ready to drive.

i live in NC, bought a car in PA in Nov. 06. I registered it and received the tags in Jan 07. never was questioned and did not have to pay any fines.
