Um, actually rice is a potentially hazardous food (PHF) because of the starch and moisture content. Most health depts will not allow rice to be kept but one day as leftovers b/c it is dangerous.

At home.... I think if you eat it all in 3 days, itll be fine. But keep what you're not consuming cold. 5 days for any leftovers is too long to be refrigerated.

I'm with Ken b. I just finished up a big bowl of rice that I made 2 weeks ago. I eat it as long as it's not slimy or smells funny. When reheating, sprinkle a few drop of water and microwave or place a moistened paper towel on top of it.

Prepared rice is fine in the fridge for a few days, doesn't make it healthy or non. Brown rice is healthier than white rice, though, as white rice doesn't have a whole lot of anything in it cept carbs.

its rice... the health value depends on if it is minute rice or long grain, white or brown and such....
i love rice, i used to make a big batch of it when i was in highschool so all i had to do was reheat some when i got home from school i'd add a different topping each time.

I would be cautious after 2-3 days.
Freeze in meal sized portions would be my option.
