Not that I know of. And my dentist recommends it after teeth cleaning, scaling, pulling, etc. to help heal the gum more quickly.

Any time I have a sore throat I find it fantastic! Better than merocaine and it does work for mouth infections too. But if your infection was very painful and salt and water did not help within 12 hours I would see a doctor.

Salt water rinses are usually reserved for sores and infections. I've had to endure them when I get throat infections. They might dry out your mouth a bit and they taste horrible, but they're not really BAD. Don't swallow! lol

I have a friend that is a dental hygienist and she said rinsing with salt water is actually good for you gums.

yes It's fine but make sure the ratio of salt to water isn't too high as it may do more harm than good over a long period.

I dont think so, Ive actually heard (on oprah, from dr. oz) that salt water is the best thing to use on any part of your body because its natural and wont destroy any cells.
